The Cleveland First Seventh-day Adventist Church
The First Seventh Day Adventist Community Church of Chesterland (Also known as: Cleveland First Seventh Day Adventist Church) was organized during the latter half of the 1800’s on the corner of Hough Avenue and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio (Cuyahoga County) and was then known as the Hough Avenue Church. As the city of Cleveland grew, so did the church. The church moved with this growth of Cleveland and as it moved eastward in physical locations to 105th and Euclid Avenue and then 187th and Euclid Avenue in 1953 in East Cleveland east of the downtown area. With this expansion, it also spawned off new church congregations; in the Cleveland suburbs; Lakewood, Ohio on the west-side of Cleveland, Brooklyn, Ohio on the southside to mention just two. In 1985, the church sold the church and property on 187th and Euclid Avenue with a vision of building even more eastward into the County of Geauga, where no Seventh Day Adventist church was located. This dream was fulfilled in 1986 with the completion of a new church building on a large property on Mayfield road in Chesterland, Ohio in Geauga County. We continue to build our spiritual gifts in this location with the continued vision of spreading the Gospel to all of Northeast Ohio
